The 7 Types of Rest
Did you know there are 7 types of rest? According to physician and work-life integration researcher, Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith, most people lack rest in one or more of these 7 areas: physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, social, sensory, and creative.
Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith is the author of “Sacred Rest: Recover Your Life, Renew Your Energy, Restore Your Sanity”. In today’s episode, she explains why you may still feel exhausted after 8 hours of sleep or often totter on the verge of burn-out.
By knowing which of your ‘buckets’ are low, you will be able to focus your energy on replenishing the right ones. With full buckets, you will be able to bring your best self to your work and to those around you.
